Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in English from the main campus of the St. Louis University, and went on to earn my master's degree in Education at McKendree University. I received an award called the Competitive Graduate Award, and will be pursuing my master's degree in English Language and Literature at Southern Illinois University next. I also have more than 14 years of experience teaching high school. I've taught a variety of subjects, including, of course, English, but also history, social studies, theology, and philosophy. The thing I feel best about working with students on is their writing skills, including essays and fiction, and reading, especially American and English literature. I am also qualified to tutor students in other subjects, including basic study skills such as time management and organization. I have developed methods for tutoring on the individual level that can easily be ported from one subject to another, so I'm widely available. In addition to teaching and tutoring, I love music, biking, and playing piano and guitar.
